As a hand-builder, I create every piece directly from slabs using only my hands and simple tools—no pottery wheel, no slab roller.

Unlike wheel-thrown pottery, which is usually divided into separate stages of throwing, trimming, and finishing, I prefer the immediate process of hand-building. When I sit down with a slab of clay, I stay with it from start to finish, allowing spirit, intuition, and the clay to guide what wants to come into being. It almost feels like a conversation.

I naturally gravitate toward surface textures that invite a tactile connection. I love the juxtaposition of raw, exposed clay paired with earthy glazes that break over texture.

Presence Pottery was born of medicine work, rooted in spirit and song. Many of my pieces are hand-stamped with words, phrases, poetry, and lyrics. I aim to share what is deeply resonant to me, in hopes that it speaks to you too.
